CONTEST!!!!!!!!!!!

I am having my first ever contest!! In this contest, make a rap or poem about your favorite food. Everyones rap or poem will be posted on my blog. Here's an example:
Biryani is yummy, biryani is great!
Biryani is the best food I've ever ate.
It has chicken, oil too, it may be fattning
for you
I don't care, its yummy(yummy)
It's delicious belive me!
Pakistanis and Indians love biryani alot,
Its a desi recipie, Arabs give it a shot!
I love it alot, o yes I do! I don't tell a lie, just to tell you! I LOVE BIRYANI!!
Some rules will have to be followed, though.
1) No swearing or vulgar language in your poem or rap.
2) Your poem or rap has to be at least 10 lines.
3) Be a good sport.

Be Yourself!

You see one of your most favorite actresses. Her hair, her clothes, her face. Ooh, you want to be just like her! Maybelline is the most popular girl in the whole school. Her sassy addtitude and attractive clothes are making many girls her friend. You and your best friends want to be just like her, so you act that way, too. have you ever been this way? Following someone you like is not being yourself.

I have been through situations like this before, also. A couple of people I know hate Hello Kitty. They think she is for babies. I love Hello Kitty. I have Hello Kitty purses, necklaces, a binder, stickers, stuffed toys, and a game on my iPad. When I found out that the my friends hate her, I wanted to be a part of them, so I hated her too. i later found out that following someone else is not being myself. I then thought to myself. " Well, Hello Kitty rocks, but I don't want to be left out of my friends. But I don't want to be someone else either." If someone even tells you about something you like that they don't and say, " Oh my gosh, that thing sucks." Just say, " Well i like it, and i'll continue to like it!" Oh, I almost forgot........... I LOVE YOU HELLO KITTY!!!!:)

Throwing Parties!!!!!!

Everybody loves parties! But have you ever threw one on your own? Then, lets do it girls!

First of all, you always have to ask mom and dad. If mom and dad say yes, then get started! If they say no( boo hoo!), then you can help a friend plan one!

Step 1: Theme.
Ooh, themes are my favorite! Finding a great theme can lead to a great party! Here are some themes you may like:

Sweet Party
With lots of sweets and candies!
Sports Themed
With sports, and more!
Arts Theme
Make your own crafts and other arty things!

Step 2:Where shall it be?
If it is a slumber party, you can have it held at your house. For a sports party, a better place to have it will be a park. Arts themed could be at a pottery area, or arts museum.Here are other places.

• Movie Theatre
• Rollerblading arena
• Arcade
• Ice skating
• Park
• National Park ( for a camping theme!)

Step 3: Who shall I invite?

Make a list of people who you would like to invite. You do not have to invite your whole class, but maybe a few people. Tip: Do not give out the invitations in front of people you did not invite. That will hurt their feelings!

Step 4: Setting up your area

Find awesome decorations to spice up your party place. Make sure to set up the food and make sure that your place is nice and clean. You want to make sure your guests feel welcome when they come! You can crank up some music if you like!

Step 5: Having fun!

You can have fun your own way! Make sure your guests are comfortable with your ideas. You can play a game, go outside, watch TV, or go swimming!

Step 6: Saying Bye

When your guests leave, make sure you hand them some party favors, ask them if they enjoyed the party, and say goodbye. Take a picture before they leave, also! You want to remember the great party!

Say NO!!!!

You are walking home from school. Just then, you see a couple of kids from your school sitting on the side of the sidewalk. They are the " cool group." Then one of the kids ( a girl ), stands up and asks you: " Wanna smoke with us?". You turn around to see if she is talking to someone behind you, but their is no one. " Um, no thanks." She raises her eyebrow. " You can join the cool group." Joining the cool group. Aah, you can see yourself popular and famous. Should you smoke, or not?

Excuse me! Smoking has very bad chemicals including nicotine, carbon monoxide, and more. people receive many diseases, including lung cancer, and more. If someone asks you to smoke and join the " cool group", think about your health, and say no!

Dealing with Strangers:

You are at the park with your friends playing soccer. Jenna kicks the ball so hard that it lands in someones yard. They ask you to go get it. You gulp and walk to the person's yard. There is a sweet looking lady standing there. You ask her to get the ball, and she lets you get it. " You are a sweet girl." she says. " What is your name? Where do you live?"

Whether this lady is nice or not, it is always better if you don't tell her any personal information. Tell the lady that you just moved and you don't know your address, and leave that place immediately.

Keeping Secrets

Secrets, even for me are hard to keep. Even if a person tells me, " Promise you won't tell?" I promise, but I end up blowing it to my trustworthy little sister. Even telling it to a trustworthy person is not good.

STORY TIME!!!

This is a story that my mother told me.

" There was once a lady who told someone a secret and asked that person to promise not to tell anyone. But guess what happened. That lady told someone! Then, it spread around the whole town. the lady who told the secret was very upset. So, she went to a very wise man who lived on the outskirts of town. She went to his house and described the problem. He then told her to go to a market and by a chicken with feathers, and on her way back, she should pluck it's feathers and leave them on the road. She did that. After that, he asked her to go back and pick them up. She said they were all gone. ' Those feathers are like the secrets you told that person' he said. ' You should never tell someone a secret.'"

How do you keep a secret?

Keeping a secret is very hard. If someone forces you to swear not to tell a secret, here's what you should do. You can write it in a journal, or you can tell your pet. Try to get it out of your head. Then, you Will not worry about it anymore.

Courage

Bullying



Bullies hurt you with words and hands. No one wants to be bullied. Lot's of people, including me are very shy, and sometimes have to stand up for situations like this. This is what you should do to stand up in front of a bully.



Look and Act Firm



Make a firm face at the bully and tell him/her to stop it immeadiatly.



Shout!



This is your chance to higher your voice. " STOP IT RIGHT NOW!" and say it loud.



Tell Someone.



Try everything. If nothing works, this is your time to ask an adult. It is time for an adult to start a hault.



Quiz Time!!!
1) You just enter the classroom. At that very moment, Amber tells you, " Sandra, you're face is ugly shaped."
At a time like this, crying is no option. Tell Amber, " I do not care what you think of my face. I like it." Or, you can make it funny. You can say, " Well guess what. You're face is sooo ugly shaped, that everthing you pass by dies."
2) All you're friends are making fun of Maya. She is small, dark, and shy. They all tell you to pull her hair. You don't want to, but you want to stay in the popular group. What shall you do?
Tell you're friends, " No thanks," or try to change the subject. " How about we go get something to eat." Changing the subject can let you're friends drop the subject in making fun of Maya.

Being Kind

Being kind is what leads you to the right path. If you be kind to someone, that person will be kind to you. Even better, it will encourage others to be kind, too!
Cussing
I am a Muslim, and every Friday I attend a khutbah, which is a speech. One really inspired me. Here's how it was like.
" Once there was a boy who used to cuss at people when he was angry. His father didn't like his sons act. So, he told him to hammer a nail to a board every time he cusses at someone. So he did. After he hammered ten nails, his father asked him to take them off every time he controls his anger. After a few days, the boy did.
' Look at the board.' The father said. ' It is full of marks. Those bad words can leave a mark in someones heart.'"
So.... DO NOT CUSS!
Controlling Anger.
Ok, now this is very difficult for girls to control, especially with little siblings. I always used to scream and shout at my little sisters, but I found a way to control it. Here's what I did.

• Take deep breaths
• Talk to them in a calm voice

These two solutions can help in any problem. Yelling at you're siblings, or anyone else, can hurt them, and they will do it too!

Let's Talk!

When it comes to talking, we all have to be on our best behavior. In front of adults, you should be polite, and talk in a clear voice. In front of you're friends, do not talk in a sassy additude, and do not talk about improper subjects. Talk about decent things.

Both of these are not appropriate. You should not bore you're aunt with too much details.Older people like to talk. They enjoy talking about their childhood and life, so you should give them a chance to talk too, and be a good listener. Trust me, you will feel alot more wiser, by the end of the conversation! Gossiping is absolutley wrong. It is a better thing to not to spread gossip and secrets. It can hurt others!
